Descripción - Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI), also known as Ultraviolet C Band (UVC) at 253.7 nanometers, has been proven to be a very effective inactivation method for destroying microorganisms. It may be used in heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) applications to clean cooling coils, drain pans and ducts, and to destroy surface and airborne microorganisms, resulting in:• Energy savings• Reduced carbon footprints• Reduced maintenance costs• Improved indoor air quality (IAQ)• Reduced absenteeism and improved productivity• Returning or maintaining coil function to as-built performance• Reduced chemical use for cleaning cooling coils and drain pans• Extended equipment life for cooling coils, chillers and HEPA filters• Clean condensate for grey water applicationsFor these goals to be achieved, the proper selection and installation of UVC germicidal lamp equipment is essential.
